Classification and Theoretical Analysis of Signature Dynamics Verification Methods
Incoming article date: 09.07.2025This paper is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the methods used in verifying the dynamics of a signature obtained from a graphic tablet. A classification of three fundamental approaches to solving this problem is carried out: matching with a standard; stochastic modeling and discriminative classification. Each approach in this paper is considered using a specific method as an example: dynamic transformation of the time scale; hidden Markov models; support vector machine. For each method, the theoretical foundations are disclosed, the mathematical apparatus is presented, the main advantages and disadvantages are identified. The results of the comparative analysis can be used as the necessary theoretical basis for developing modern signature dynamics verification systems.
