Features of the architectural and planning structure of the settlements of the Northern Vietnamese Thay people
Incoming article date: 01.10.2025The article examines the architectural and planning features of the settlements of the Thai people in the North of Vietnam. It analyzes the origin of the ethnic group, identifies the area and landscape morphotypes of settlement, and examines the diversity of planning structures within the morphotypes. The article determines that the architectural type of the settlements is a house on stilts. Specific examples are provided. The article also notes the changes in living conditions in traditional Thai settlements due to urbanization. The goal is to develop measures at the state level to preserve the region's architectural identity.
