Studying performance drills with variable pitch helix

Abstract

Studying performance drills with variable pitch helix

D. V. Emel'janov

Today in modern engineering is the issue of improving the performance of high-temperature processing of products and composite materials (plastics). When machining holes such products plays a decisive role to increase the rigidity, the wear resistance of the cutting tool and as a consequence, reduction of marriage. Increased tool life is possible in two ways: by improving the physical and mechanical characteristics of the material of the cutting tool (eg, carbide) or developing the most efficient design. Study and practical use of the regularities of cutting plastics and other composite materials used in engineering, allows to better manage them in order to increase the productivity and efficiency of processing. Comparison of patterns of the cutting process with the laws of plastic metal cutting process is only necessary to consider the difference between them in the processing of machine tools using cutting tools.
