  • Experimental studies of the effect of activated mixing water on the technological properties of building cement mix

The article presents experimental studies of the effect of activated mixing water on the technological properties of building cement mixtures prepared with water treated in the electric field of soluble electrodes. As a result of water treatment in the electric field of soluble electrodes, the material of the electrodes dissolves and, depending on the field parameters (intensity, current strength), the water is saturated with polyvalent aluminum hydroxide, which affects the formation of a crystallization structure, which is formed due to the chemical interaction of the binder and ions of the dissolved material electrodes. As a result of the formation of crystalline hydrates, the hardening process is accelerated and contributes to an increase in the technological properties of the building mixture (strength, normal density of the mixture, setting time). The purpose of the study: scientific substantiation of the effect of water treated in the electric field of soluble electrodes on improving the technological properties of the building mixture. Methods: experimental studies of the effect of mixing water treated in the electric field of soluble aluminum electrodes, depending on the material of the electrodes and the characteristics of the electric field, on the technological properties of the mixture. To determine the effect of increasing the technological characteristics of the building mixture, the influence of the duration and modes of water preparation on the strength of the cement stone at different hardening times, the setting time, and the plasticity of the mixture were studied. Results: The results of experimental studies proved the possibility of improving the technological properties of building mixtures prepared with water treated in the electric field of soluble electrodes, confirmed the possibility of increasing the compressive strength of the studied samples compared to control samples. A cement mixture prepared with treated water is more plastic than a mixture prepared with ordinary water.

  • Methods for increasing the water resistance of sulfur asphalt concrete

A promising direction for improving the durability and transport and operational performance of road pavements is the use of modifiers, including those based on sulfur as a component of the asphalt concrete mixture. However, sulfur and its toxic gases are active substances that can enter into chemical interactions with fillers to form water-soluble calcium and magnesium sulfides CaS and MgS. This process leads to the destruction of the dispersed phase and a decrease in the water resistance of sulfur asphalt concrete. A promising direction that has received wide approbation in the manufacture of polymer composites is the finishing of the filler surface, which makes it possible to prevent the formation of water-soluble sulfides. The coupling agents form a shell impermeable to sulfur, which prevents its chemical interaction with the dispersed phase. The following components are offered as coupling agents: Polymethylsiloxane (PMS-100), SKDN-N rubber, silicic acid sol in a medium containing Fe(OH)3 nanoparticles, and iron (III) hydroxide sol.

  • Comparison of cottage settlements with cluster and boulevard type of design of public spaces.

In the course of the history of the development of countries, large cities – megacities were formed. It will not come as a surprise that many have already become familiar with such a term as agglomeration. The emerging infrastructure between regional centers or just around a large city could not do without residents living on its territory. Naturally, it is necessary to create comfortable conditions for living. This is how settlements (including urban-type ones) began to form. But within the framework of the article, the emphasis is placed exclusively on cottage settlements. It is impossible not to pay attention to the experience of the development of settlements in the USA. About 40% live in the suburbs of American cities, which in quantitative terms exceeds 130 million people. The development of new residential areas outside of cities in America was accompanied by the development of transport, socio-cultural infrastructure, educational institutions. Low land prices began to encourage people to move into their own housing. It would be incorrect to project the trend of deurbanization of the United States on Russia. On the territory of the Russian Federation, educational and other institutions are mostly located in cities, mostly in large ones. Despite this, the very phenomenon of the formation of cottage settlements, urban-type settlements has not spared the largest country in the world. It is possible that the infrastructural development of such settlements will be reflected in the future by an increase in the standard of living throughout the country and an increase in the number of people willing to change apartments for two-storey private houses.

  • Protective polymer coating with increased strength and adhesion characteristics

The paper presents the results of studies of the characteristics of a polymer coating for the protection of steel and concrete surfaces based on low molecular weight dimethylsiloxane rubber SKTN-A. For cold curing of the binder and its modification, the MSN-7-80 hardener was used, an additional functional additive was galvanic sludge calcined at 1000 °C and crushed to a particle size of no more than 40 microns. It was found that polymethylsilazane, which is part of MSN-7-80, increases the strength characteristics of the coating, especially its cohesive strength, while reducing water absorption by increasing the hydrophobicity of the surface. In turn, galvanic sludge increases the mechanical strength upon impact. The ecological safety of the obtained material was confirmed by the method of biotesting on the mortality of Daphnia magna Straus. As a result of comparison with a protective coating similar in composition and purpose, it was revealed that the coating obtained in this work surpasses it in strength and adhesion characteristics. The developed polymer composition can be used to protect steel and concrete surfaces in construction and mechanical engineering from shock and moisture, including in extreme conditions of high or low temperatures and in contact with aggressive media.
