  • Direct vector control of induction motor drives using model predictive control

This paper presents the application of the model predictive control (MPC) technique for direct vector control  of induction motor drive. Three MPC controllers have been employed; one for adjusting the motor speed, the second for rotor flux control and the last one is specialized for controlling the motor currents. A simple models of induction motor is employed in the MPC structure so as to minimize the computational load. a cassced  The effectiveness of the proposed scheme has been successfully verified through simulations.  The performance of the system including the MPC controller is compared with the corresponding one using the traditional PI controller. The results proved that the induction motor with the MPC controller has superior transient response, and good robustness in face of uncertainties including load disturbance. Moreover, accurate tracking performance has been achieved.

  • Practical application of its own software system topology synthesis in a design flow

The aim of this work was the use of practical testing of a software module of topology synthesis of a IC design flow, built on the basis of EDA modules one of the leading companies, Cadence Design Systems. System compatibility with Cadence modules is achieved by using of input and output files in standard formats of data exchange - LEF and DEF. Because the data files are text format, it allows customization in any configuration of the IC and library basis. The developed software system can be used both on routing stage and use to synthesis topology (solving the placement and routing problems). Developed design flow have been tested on three projects based chipset analog-to-digital FPGA (CMOS technology on bulk silicon with 2.6 micron design rules). The developed software system can be used as a step trace compounds and to comply fully with the synthesis of topology, solving the problem of locating elements of the project and laying tracks.Positive practical results obtained allow us to conclude about the correctness of the developed algorithms, and the overall system performance.

  • Dynamical choice of the order in the multirate adaptive filter

The new way of multirate adaptation is considered. The main idea is the filter ability to change the order of the filter automaticaly by the appropriate algorithm.
The power on the filter output consists of two components. The first one is caused by the impulse response truncation, and the other is caused by weights fluctuations in the adaptive processing. More weights contribute more noise in adaptive signal processing. The result of adaptive procedure is the choice of the best filter orders in every channel of the multi-channel structure.
The main interest of this investigation is in the adaptation of the multirate adaptive filter with the flexible structural self-organization.
Due to the use of dynamical order adaptation procedure in the subbands, it is possible to reduce the total amount of the computational operations without quality reducing. Beside it, decreasing of the filter orders in the separate channel promotes considerable increase of the signal-to-noise ratio in the output signal. These statements are approved by experiments with the equalization problem.
Different results of the computer modeling are supplied with proper comments.

  • Computer simulation of visual grouping mechanisms selective to spatial modulations of contrast

This paper outlines the implementation of computer model of second-order visual mechanisms that are specific to spatial contrast modulations, and represents the results of testing the model. Computer simulation is based on "Filter-Rectify-Filter" model with some important additions. The inhibitory parts of receptive field of simulated mechanism are non-selective to orientation and spatial frequency of texture elements. Texture modulated by orientation or spatial frequency does not reduce flank inhibition and does not activate the mechanism. Unmodulated texture  also does not cause activation of the filter because the flanking inhibition will be equal to or exceed the excitation. However, increasing the contrast in the center and reduction it on the flanks leads to the activation of the second order mechanism.

  • Some aspects of the reversibility of processes in linear electric circuits second order

The paper gives the definition of reversibility, which can be used in the theory of linear circuits. To determine the conditions of the processes in reverse sequence selected linear second order circuit containing two reactive elements L and C. For a linear circuit at the time of switching current (or voltage ) can be written as the sum of two components : compulsory and free. Conditions for reversibility constrained component current (or voltage ) can be obtained a corresponding change of parameters independent sources of electrical energy. For a free component of the reversibility of the process can be achieved by changing the signs of the circuit elements in such a way that the signs of the roots of the characteristic equation is reversed . This switching can be realized if all the resistors in the multipole synthesized based on analog - digital-analog elements.
