  • Engineering and geological justification of underground hydraulic structures

In the practice of constructing underground hydraulic structures, conditions often arise that require careful attention to gas forecasting. Such forecasting can be based on an analysis of the geological and tectonic structure of the area, a study of the mineral composition, degree of lithogenesis, rock chemistry, temperature and gas composition, groundwater sources, etc. The problem of ensuring the reliability of underground structures is complicated by the high seismicity of the areas in question, significant natural stresses, often comparable to the strength of the rock, and the presence of faults along tunnel routes.

  • Advanced reagent water clarification schemes

During the construction of water treatment stations in group water pipelines, it exceeds 15 ... 30% of the cost of the entire system and directly depends on the technological scheme, the choice of which, in turn, is influenced by the quality of the water in the source and the performance of the station. In large group water supply systems, water from surface sources is usually used, which must be clarified, discolored, deodorized, and disinfected.

  • Investigation of hydraulic characteristics in overgrown canal beds by the example of the KBR irrigation systems

Determination of the main hydraulic parameters of overgrown channel beds using the methods of various authors Shezi, Altshul, etc., in relation to the conditions of irrigation systems of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. A plot of the velocity distribution in conditions of overgrown riverbeds is constructed. The distribution of velocities in overgrown riverbeds strongly depends on the flexibility of the stems.

  • Analysis of known theoretical and experimental studies of the stability of the wall of a cylindrical granary

The well-known theoretical and experimental investigations of the stability of thin-sheeted shells of cylindrical storages are analyzed in the article. It was investigated the following problems concerning the stability of the wall of a spiral-bound granary and a cylindrical granary with a smooth wall, compressed by friction forces of the grain and load from the roof; stability of the wall of the cylindrical shell of containers for liquid and bulk materials when creating a prestress in them.

  • The stability of the cylindrical granary wall compressed by the friction forces of grain and the load from the roof

The article is considered the wall stability of a steel cylindrical pre-stressed granary, compressed by the friction forces of grain and shell, taking into consideration the influence of the grain internal pressure, its elastic resistance from the inside and the elastic resistance of the pre-stressed shell outside. In this case, the initial and subcritical deflection of the shell is assumed to be axisymmetric, and the loss of the shell stability occurs with the formation of asymmetric deflection. The given solution of the problem allows to determine the magnitude of the critical efforts taking into consideration the influence of the grain internal pressure, its elastic repulsion, the magnitude of the initial deflections and the ratio of shell dimensions.
