Abstract
Justification of the width of the excavator face
Incoming article date: 06.08.2021This article considers the issue of justification of excavator face width as a possible basis for information technological design of earthworks. An assessment of the effect of the excavator face width on the excavator stroke length and, as a consequence, on the amount of excavated soil at one technological parking lot has been made. The most effective width of the excavator face was determined using a dimensionless coefficient characterizing the surface area of excavation, and the impact of the physical and mechanical properties of soils on the geometry of the excavator face was assessed.
