  • Experimental research of the carbon cloth electrodes for recording electrical biological signals

The article presents the results of experimental investigations of carbon fabric electrodes for recording electrical biosignals. Experimental studies of carbon fabric electrodes showed good results both in conductivity and usability, for example, for further integration into clothing, that indicates the high quality of carbon fabric electrodes and promising for further uses for cardiac monitoring.

Keywords: Electrodes, carbon fabric, electrical biosignals, cardiac monitoring.

  • The experimental research the passage of the ultrasonic beam through charging the layered structure

This paper shows the results of the experimental research the passage of the ultrasonic beam through modifiable layered structure in order to obtain data on changes in levels of pressure in the front slice of the acoustic field. This paper presents the spatial distribution characteristics of the acoustic field after passing the various layers in the liquid. Celebrated not only offset the propagation path, but also change the chart pressure in the front slice on the amplitude level , the width of the chart, the position of the lateral lobe and its amplitude.

Possibility of using of a phosphate for receiving lime which can be used further as a sorbent of oxides of sulfur in coppers with technology of the circulating boiling layer, applied on coal thermal power plants is considered.

Keywords: enterprises of power industry, phosphogypsum, with CFB boilers - circulating boiling layer, pollution of the atmosphere, sulphur dioxide, secondary resources, sulfuric acid

  • Computer simulation of visual grouping mechanisms selective to spatial modulations of contrast

This paper outlines the implementation of computer model of second-order visual mechanisms that are specific to spatial contrast modulations, and represents the results of testing the model. Computer simulation is based on "Filter-Rectify-Filter" model with some important additions. The inhibitory parts of receptive field of simulated mechanism are non-selective to orientation and spatial frequency of texture elements. Texture modulated by orientation or spatial frequency does not reduce flank inhibition and does not activate the mechanism. Unmodulated texture  also does not cause activation of the filter because the flanking inhibition will be equal to or exceed the excitation. However, increasing the contrast in the center and reduction it on the flanks leads to the activation of the second order mechanism.

  • Breath analysis for diagnosis of halitosis

This article considers the causes of halitosis and methods of the diagnosis. Halitosis, syndrome of bad breath caused by pathological condition of the oral cavity or internal organs and systems, has a significant impact on the patient's social life. Analysis of the composition of exhaled air may become a promising way to diagnose halitosis, as the direct relationship between the compositions of molecules of oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ammonia etc. and the causes of halitosis were found. The article's authors review and analysis the methods of measurement of qualitative and quantitative composition of exhaled air. The most common methods include the use of electrochemical, optical sensors, infrared spectrometers and mass spectrometers. The latter method is positioned as the most optimal method of analysis of exhaled air due to its high accuracy, selectivity and sensitivity. The authors' portable mass spectrometer being developed is represented. At this stage it can detect traces of oxygen and carbon dioxide, which inject into the device through the capillary system or membrane one, in gas samples in real-time mode.
