  • Calibration of a magnetometer in an integrated navigation system of a small-class unmanned underwater vehicle

The article is devoted to the development and implementation of a two-stage magnetometer calibration algorithm integrated into the navigation system of a small-class unmanned underwater vehicle. At the first stage, an ellipsoidal approximation method is used to compensate for soft iron and hard iron distortion, ensuring the correct geometric location of magnetometer measurements. The second stage of calibration involves a method for estimating rotation between the coordinate systems of the magnetometer and accelerometer using quaternions as rotation parameters. Experimental verification of the algorithm demonstrated its effectiveness. Following completion of the two-step calibration, calibration parameters were determined and their use confirmed good consistency between magnetometer readings and actual magnetic field data, indicating the feasibility of using this technique for calibrating magnetometers.. The proposed algorithm for two-stage magnetometer calibration does not require laboratory equipment and can be carried out under real-world operating conditions. This makes it possible to integrate it into the onboard software of unmanned underwater vehicles.

  • The choice of the strategy of maintenance and repair of communications equipment at oil and gas enterprises

To ensure the reliable operation of communication networks of the oil and gas complex, it is necessary to properly organize the process of maintenance and repair of equipment. As technology evolved, various strategies for maintenance and repair of equipment were developed in the industry, which improve the profitability of production. At present, a risk-based strategy is increasingly used. In practice, to apply this strategy, it is necessary to make a preliminary estimate of the magnitude of the risk based on the probability of equipment failure and the severity of the consequences of failure. As information sources, statistical data on equipment and failures, forecasts of technical condition and consequences of failures, simulation results, as well as expert estimates can be used. To simplify the process of analyzing input data and reducing the subjective uncertainty of expert data, it is advisable to use a decision support system that must rely on the apparatus of the theory of fuzzy sets and methods of collective expert assessments.

  • The search and estimate of anomalies in network traffic on the basis of the cyclical analysis

The mathematical model for automation of search and an assessment of anomalies of volume of a network traffic is offered. The developed model can be used in a traffic control system for the analysis of a condition of the computer network for the purpose of detection of malfunctions of the network equipment, identification of casual and deliberate actions from users, and also action of malefactors.
The offered scheme can be used in a control system of a traffic both internal, and an external network. Input parameters can be described by qualitative values that allow developing base of rules for elaboration of response to the arisen situation.
