This article examines the main architectural principles of existing mosques in the South of Russia, such as: space-planning solutions, functional zoning, architectural and artistic and urban planning features. The article provides an overview of existing mosques in Astrakhan, Vladikavkaz, Grozny, Yevpatoriya and Rostov-on-Don. The analysis of existing mosques helps to formulate key architectural, planning and urban planning aspects in the design of modern mosques.
