  • Study of the thermal performance of plate heat exchangers operating in a hot water supply circuit under conditions of combined operation with a storage tank

    The article discusses the issues associated with the preparation of hot water in individual apartment heating systems that use a secondary plate heat exchanger of the boiler. The drawbacks of this approach are highlighted, including delays in hot water supply, the need to drain water from the pipeline, the inability to regulate temperature and flow rate, as well as the lack of recirculation capabilities. As an alternative, a system with a storage tank and a plate heat exchanger is proposed, which ensures stable water temperature, adjustable flow rate, resource savings, and the possibility of recirculation. Based on experimental studies, the heat transfer coefficient for heat exchangers with profiled and flat plates has been determined. Calculations of the required heat exchanger area are provided, depending on the type of plates, the volume of the storage tank, and its charging time, which allows for the optimization of hot water supply system design.

  • Investigation of the dependence of the volume of gas leakage on the nature of damage to the gas pipeline

    The article discusses the main causes of natural gas leaks and ways to detect them. Data on the volume of natural gas leakage and the nature of damage were obtained at the experimental installation. The objects of experimental research are gas connections to devices, such as: bellows hose made of stainless steel, rubber hose and cap nut of gas connection with varying degrees of tightening. The course of conducting an experimental study of filling a room with natural gas, depending on the degree of damage to the gas supply and its nature, is described. The analysis of the results of the experiment to determine the dependence of the gas flow rate on the type of damage to the gas supply is carried out. The most dangerous types of leaks in the room are determined, graphs of the dependence of gas flow through various damages and methods of their prevention to prevent such situations are constructed.

    The article discusses the method of thermal disinfection of hot water systems, its features and effectiveness, provides various schemes that ensure the processing of the system and the destruction of legionella bacteria.

  • Compensation of temperature lengthening in systems of centralized hot water supply made from polyethylene pipelines

    The article discusses the comparison of polyethylene and steel pipelines. The definition of coefficient of temperature linear expansion for polyethylene pipelines is given. The analysis of existing methods to determine the linear dimensions of compensators and their compensating ability was carried out. The analysis of the obtained dependences showed that the calculated compensating ability, in some cases, exceeds the geometric dimensions of the compensator. The method for determining the compensating ability is determined.
