  • Development of a new mathematical method for modeling a modified radial bearing design taking into account nonlinear factors

This paper proposes a mathematical model of the laminar flow of a truly viscous lubricant in the clearance of a radial plain bearing with a nonstandard support profile. The influence of a fluoroplastic-containing polymer coating and a groove on the shaft surface is considered, taking into account nonlinear effects, which improves the accuracy of the description of hydrodynamic processes. Thin-film approximations and continuity equations are used to determine the hydrodynamic pressure, load capacity, and friction coefficient. A comparison with existing calculation models demonstrated improved performance prediction. The results demonstrate the feasibility of ensuring stable shaft floatation, confirming the applicability of the developed model for engineering calculations of bearings with a polymer coating and a groove.

  • Calculation of short-circuit currents in the DC traction network when using a two-level system of group grounding of supports

The article presents a method for calculating short-circuit currents in a DC traction network. The system of group grounding of supports, considered in the article, is equipped with an additional conductor that improves the working conditions of the entire section of the electrified railway by reducing the resistance of the short circuit loop.

  • Means of knowledge representation and data extraction for mining situations

In this paper, an analysis of the problems and tasks arising from the design of situational awareness tools has been carried out. As a result, it has been established that the approaches in this area do not satisfy the requirements for modern intelligent tools for operational decision support for the reasons for the lack of methods and tools reflecting the dynamics of information processes and a distributed information processing architecture with weakly structured properties. The methods of operating and extracting knowledge from semistructured dynamic information are proposed.
