  • On the causes of premature destruction of roofs made of polymer membranes

The article reveals the problem of unreasonable overestimation of the durability of roofs made of polymer membranes, which was allowed during their mass introduction in our country in construction and repair and construction production. The article contains a description and illustrations of characteristic cracks that have arisen on a large area of the membrane roof, which have brought it into an inoperative state. The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the causes of the origin of these cracks, including the influence of the design features of membrane roofs, the aggressive effect of solar radiation and large hail on them. It is concluded that it is necessary to choose more UV-resistant polymer roofing membranes.

Keywords: construction, building, membrane roof, polymer membrane, durability, aggressive effects, hail, damage, cracks, inoperable condition

  • Increasing the atmospheric resistance of plastering outside brick walls of heated buildings

Currently, in civil engineering, when building the exterior walls of buildings, plastered brickwork is most often used. The plaster gives the building a more aesthetic appearance, protects from weathering, moisture, precipitation. During the heating season, the plaster coating has the most destructive effect. Thus, the problem arises of the technology of plaster coating with a longer service life. The purpose of this research work was to study plaster on the external brick walls of heated civil buildings, as well as to find ways to improve the weather resistance of the facade plaster with the use of light stucco cement mortar and the use of advanced technology for its construction. To solve this problem, an analysis of the existing shortcomings of the facade plaster under atmospheric influences on it has been performed. Damage to the plaster layer arising during the process of atmospheric exposure is determined. In laboratory conditions, experimental studies were carried out to determine the optimum parameters of weatherproof plasters. The plaster coating of the external brick walls obtained by the above method has an increased strength, capable of resisting various atmospheric influences during the long-term operation of the heated building without degrading its functional properties.

  • Proposals for the classification of technical heat-saving methods in the operation of residential and public buildings

The article substantiates the expediency of classification of technical heat-saving methods in the operation of residential and public buildings. The results of the study of the physical nature, efficiency and rational application of these methods were used in the classification according to their main function. The proposed classification of heat-saving methods is recommended for use in the integrated assessment of heat efficiency of residential and public buildings, and in determination of sources of heat savings during their operation.

  • The propositions about the use of inertia conveyors while making concrete (cement-sand) cushions in the buildings with prepared and built-up roofings

The authors ground the expediency, prove the effectiveness and give an account of the basic points of rational technical decision about the use of a new resource-saving technology of inertial conveyor feeding of concrete mix and cement-sand grout to the point of placement while making concrete (cement-sand) cushions in the buildings with prepared or built-up roofings.

Keywords: roofing, concrete (cement-sand) cushions, concrete mix, concrete mix feeding, inertia conveyor, cost per unit of labor

  • Complex evaluation competitiveness of construction technologies.

The article presents the author's method of evaluation competitiveness of construction technologies. The main factors that have influence on the choice of the most competitive construction technology are indicated. The paper contains suggestions on forming the aggregation of local criteria intended for complex estimation of efficiency of any construction technologies. Expediency of vector optimization of competitive technologies is substantiated. The field of rational application of research results is shown

Keywords: construction technologies, complex estimation of efficiency, competitiveness, local and global criteria.

  • Information support of preparing pre-project decisions on major repairs of buildings

"The article contains suggestions on improving classification of the information necessary for preparing pre-project decisions on major repairs of buildings. Expedience of combining the separate information about a building in the single repair-exploitation document – the reglament of technical maintenance is proved. "

Keywords: building, maintenance, repair, building information, information sources, pre-project decisions.
