  • Experimental study of the effectiveness of sorbents based on building binder mixtures and porous granular materials for cleaning supply air in buildings

    The effectiveness of air purification with the following sorbents has been studied: crushed expanded clay with granule sizes up to 2-3 mm, zeolite with granule sizes up to 1-3 mm, activated carbon with granules up to 3 mm, the natural mineral pyrolusite as a catalyst, Portland cement prepared using various methods: with the addition of a 6% solution of table salt, with soaking of granules in 26%, 31% and 36% solutions of diethanolamine. Studies have shown that the most effective (98%) use of pyrolusite granules, Portland cement granules obtained after mixing Portland cement with a 6% sodium chloride solution, soaked in 31% diethanolamine and then drying the granules at a temperature of 125 0C.

  • Evaluation of the efficiency of electromagnetic shielding of metal construction and finishing materials with different form factor

    One of the main sources of electromagnetic radiation in the environment are power lines, not taking into account this fact, there are increasingly cases of construction of buildings in close proximity to the boundaries of the security zones of air lines. The purpose of this study is to improve the electromagnetic safety of the population, as a result of the use in the construction of residential facilities located near overhead power lines, structural and finishing materials with the greatest shielding ability. On the example of "corrugated Board" of different brands, used as a shielding material, the indicators reflecting the efficiency of electromagnetic shielding are obtained. Also, according to the results of the study, it was found that not only the raw material from which the material is made plays a role in the shielding of the electric field, but also its form factor.

  • Business game as an effective interactive teaching method when studying technical disciplines

    An implementation of the interactive technology for conducting laboratory classes on discipline "Technology of construction materials" in the form of a business game. A scenario is developed in laboratory classes with the elements of a business game. This interactive technology is being successfully implemented at the Department of "mechanical Engineering and applied mechanics" VITI NRNU MEPhI in the representation of the discipline "Technology of construction materials" and its sections.

  • Monitoring and mathematical modeling of microbial air pollution near highways Volgograd

    The aim of this work was to conduct monitoring and make a regression model of the microbiological air pollution in Volgograd near highways. The work carried out monitoring of microbial air pollution in the residential district of Volgograd near two major highways - first and second longitudinal lines. On the first phase of research the microbial monitoring of air pollution in the residential district of Volgograd was conducted, depending on the proximity to the highway. Number of microbial cells (MC) was evaluated by sedimentation. The assumption is made about the nature of the regression relationship between microbial air pollution and the distance from the highway. Approximating functions and regression coefficients are constructed for the first portion of the longitudinal line at different levels of traffic road. Function is obtained, which allows to calculate the value of microbial contamination of the air, depending on the distance to the road and number of vehicles. In the case of high levels of the microbiological monitoring of the basin air it’s necessary to carry out measures to reduce microbial contamination of the air, for example, regular watering roads, tree planting, vegetative barriers adsorbing pollutants, chemical treatment of disinfectants. The calculation of microbial contamination of the air near a residential building located at a distance of 10 meters from the highway in the central region of Volgograd is conducted using proposed in function prediction of microbial contamination. The developed technique allows us to make calculations without setting up experiments in a specialized microbiology laboratory.

    A long term study of compensation converters allowed to solve the task of designing the structure, the calculation of its elements, the determination of static characteristics and energy performance.   • Iterative optimal control algorithm energy-saving converters

    An optimal control algorithm for compensating converters. This algorithm provides control of active and reactive components of power consumption.
